The More Core Team. LH.
Choosing the right roofer means making sure your contractor is qualified and experienced. We provide free estimates.

If your roof is in need of repair or replacement there are some things that you need to know before contracting a roofer.

When your home was first built a roof system is what was designed to protect the investment.

A faulty roof can have impact on all the layers below it. That means a qualified person must inspect all of the layers before placing new tiles or shingles.

Anyone could put shingles and tiles on a roof, but that does not make them a roofer unless they have experience and understanding the full extent of the damage created.

With out the proper knowledge, experience and execution, the repair you decide to make can be short-lived and could result in further damage down the road.

Before you hire a roofing contractor, Call us and ask us to bid on your repair or replacement, because we have the proper experience knowledge and execution skills.

Keep in mind the lowest price may be the most expensive down the road.

More Core - Just Roof It

Many handyman returned to the jobsite and kept fixing the rotted soffit and fascia with new wood and drip edge, however nobody ever looked above the roofline to realize the gutter was going right through the shingles. Our solution was to cut back the gutter, cap off the end and install new decking and flashing at the eaves. We also removed the smaller gutters on either side of the A-Frame, replaced the fascia with new wood, cladded the fascia with aluminum and reinstalled the gutters and pitched accordingly.

Customer decided to do their roof, one of the concerns they had was that multiple repairs were made behind the gutter due to fascia rot.

The rotted fascia allowed squirrels and birds to get inside the home.Once we stripped the roof, we realized that the problem was due to a poorly constructed gutter system. The original owner thought it would be best if they cut into the roof line and had the water drain into the gutter from under the decking. When the original homeowner decided to do his roof, he chose not to do a tear off, but a go over of the existing system. At that point, the roofer that did the second layer covered up the gutter thinking the shingles would keep the water outside of the roof. This may have worked for a little while but eventually the standing water worked its way behind the shingles and dripped back into the A-Frame forcing the water out behind the soffit and fascia.

More Core - Just Roof It

More Core Construction came in and did a full roof/ attic inspection. We noted that due to the poor ventilation nails were popping up on the roof causing leaks during wind driven rain. We also noted that the fan was never changed and only had a thermostat and not a humidistat. Also, we noted the holes that the handy man made were not big enough, and never pulled back the insulation that was stuffing up the soffit. We resealed all the nail pops, we changed the fan that had to a thermostat and humidistat, The thermostat will work during months that have heat, and humidistat will work during cool months to eject any condensation caused by the cool temperatures outside and the hot temperatures inside. Now that we took care of the exausts In order for the fan to work properly, we need to take care of the intake: ie: the soffits. What we decided to do first was pull back all the insulation around the eaves. On the outside we cut out big holes and took out all the rotted plywood under the soffit. To finish the job we decided to go with a maintenance free solution by cladding the fascia with aluminum and install center vented vinyl soffits. By opening up the plywood and removing the insulation the fan will work more efficiently keeping the attic space closer to outside temperature. This is an integral part of your roofing system and insure the roof's longevity.

Customer's Roof is only 3 years old and leaking. At first customer noticed the roof dripping during the winter months. Customer found out that his old roofer was no longer in business. He called the manufacturer, they finally came out and they told him it is not a warranty issue it was a ventilation issue. Customer had his local handy man install little vents into his wooden soffit. However another winter went by and he had the same exact issues. Even worse, it started to leak and rot out the wood in the soffit. Finally after a major downpoor he found More Core Construction.
